NQT Induction Service

We strongly believe that the first twelve months of a teacher’s career are not only the most demanding, but also of vital significance in the professional development of a new teacher. The right training and supervision support for an NQT in their first year can ensure that they stay committed to teaching and enjoy a long, successful teaching career.

Just as school based teacher training has evolved, so has NQT training. Teaching schools are going from strength to strength and have the resources and facilities to give NQTs the follow up care they need in their first year of teaching.

Octavo Partnership will continue to act as an Appropriate Body for NQT Induction, providing a service that guarantees your teachers are supported from the very beginning of their induction year, through to final assessment and certification from the National College of Teaching and Leadership (NCTL). We work with many schools across London boroughs which means that we can provide a consistent benchmarking standard for NQT induction training across school sites.

Unique to the service is the support available when NQTs experience difficulties. Octavo’s NQT team has extensive experience meaning that, whatever situation arises, they can confidently support you from start to finish to ensure the best outcome.

This year, we have continued to work in partnership with the Chipstead Valley Teaching Alliance who have supported the re-development of our joint NQT programme to create a unique, informative and highly relevant learning programme, ensuring that all NQTs have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, skills and understanding through collaborative support and in a practical environment.

At a time when funding can be limited, recruitment and retention of teachers continue to be a challenge, maintaining relationships and partnerships has never been so important. We are privileged to work with our local teaching schools to help grow the teachers of the future who will shape the lives of the next generation.
