Focusing on targeted interventions to develop the curriculum offer for social, emotional and mental health needs. The course reflects Ofsted emphasis on building learning behaviour and inspiring children to learn. The course is a full day and led by NurtureUK. There are two modules:
Morning: Nurture ABC (Aspire, build and connect with Lego)Afternoon: Sensory Issues in the Classroom
Module 1 (morning): Nurture ABC (Aspire, build and connect with Lego)This session will follow Lego Education’s 4C approach to learning and explore traditional methods to engage pupils with the curriculum. Nurture ABC encourages pupils to express their thoughts and ideas symbolically, providing a more play-based creative and hands-on approach to engaging pupils in of all abilities. It uses secure and non – judgmental process for solving problems, expressing personal feelings and breaking down barriers that can affect achievement in the curriculum
Module 2 (Afternoon): Sensory issues in the classroomChildren with attachment issues often experience a high state of anxiety and stress. This may lead to overload and inability to filter out unnecessary sensory input, affecting behaviour and learning at school. This module will develop your skills to improve pupil’s capacity to pay attention memorise, self-manage and understand themselves.
There is a fee of £260 for each delegate which includes refreshments and lunch. The fee also includes a Nurture ABC Resource Box for each delegate.
