KS1 & KS2 SATs - What Governors & Trustees Need to Know - Bromley Venue | Octavo Partnership

Course Date

26 Mar 2019 19:00 – 21:00

Overview

This briefing session is open to all Bromley Governors or Trustees, regardless of whether their school has purchased an annual Governance contract with Octavo Governor Services – no charge will be incurred by the school for your attendance.

Description

Maladministration allegations can come from people who have misunderstood the way KS2 tests are administered, or who have misinterpreted appropriate support pupils have received.

KS2 Test administration guidance states that headteachers should consider inviting a governor or another trusted member of the school community, who is not otherwise involved in administering the tests, to observe the administration of the tests.
If schools choose to invite a Governor / Trustee, the Governor / Trustee must be familiar with the contents of the guidance for administering the tests. Governors / Trustees should also be asking for assurances that the correct process is being followed. Observation should start from when test papers are opened until the completed scripts are sealed in the transparent bag after the test.
