Overview

A full day leadership module for curriculum/subject leaders.
This module can stand alone or be taken as part of the Octavo middle leadership course for new and existing middle leaders which includes “Driving a curriculum area”, “Coaching and mentoring”, “Analysing performance” and “Effecting change”

Description

The focus of this module is to provide support to teachers new to subject leadership or new to leading a core subject e.g. English or mathematics. The day will be spent exploring the generic roles of a subject leader and will also consider how leaders can keep abreast of the subject specific aspects of the work.We will consider the features of leadership and of management and explore how to apply these effectively to the role of curriculum leader.
