This course will offer training and support to current, new and aspiring Computing Subject Leaders in Primary schools. Delegates will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of the role of a Computing Subject Leader, including a focus on articulating a curriculum intent, understanding of implementation and impact of the subject preparing them for a deep dive.This will also be an opportunity to share ideas and experiences with other leaders and explore the similarities and differences in the role in different schools
This course will help you with these key questions:•What do you want to achieve for your learners in your school?•What are the NC requirements and strands of the computing curriculum?•How do we teach it? – Long- and medium-term planning, rationale for content choices and sequencing•How do I ensure my staff have the knowledge and skills?•Resourcing and managing your current software, online subscriptions and hardware to ensure curriculum coverage and plugging the gaps•What does best practice look like?•How to evaluate a lesson and where and why it sits in a sequence•How to evaluate children’s work and their learning during lessons•How do we monitor and assess computing and measure impact?
During the day you will be filling in your Action plan to take back to school to get Deep Dive Ready!
