The Role of the Panel Chair - Bromley | Octavo Partnership

Course Date

29 Oct 2019 19:00 – 21:00

Overview

Governors are increasingly becoming asked to sit on formal Governor Panels, whether to consider parental complaints or a pupil exclusion. Whilst all the Panel Members have an important role to play, the Panel Chair plays a key role in ensuring both an efficient panel process and that members are able to make an effective, strategic contribution to the panel’s decision making.

This course is non-chargeable for those schools with an annual Octavo Governance training contract.

As clearly demonstrated in the Governance Competency Framework, a Chair is expected to demonstrate a wide of skills and responsibilities. This development session, using a mixture of presentation, discussion and a variety of group activities, will provide greater insight into the role of a modern-day Chair.

This course is non-chargeable for those schools with an annual Octavo Governance training contract.

Description

This session will assist Governors’ development of Key Competency 1 (Strategic Leadership) and 5 (Compliance) within the Governance Competency Framework.
