The role of the Parent Governor can lead to some confusion as to what the expectations of the role are, including whether you are there as a representative of the school parent community or to challenge and hold to account the Head as other categories of Governors are expected to do.
This course is non-chargeable for those schools who have annual training contract with Octavo Governance.
This interactive development session will consider:– The core strategic responsibilities that all modern day Governors, including Parent Governors, are expected to discharge effectively– Role expectations of Parent Governors, including potential conflicts of interest– Exploring the potential barriers that may prevent Parent Governors from fully discharging their governance responsibilities
The session will also provide delegates an opportunity to relect on governance practice and challenges they may have faced.
