The role of the Staff Governor can lead to some confusion as to what the expectations of the role are, including whether you are there to provide support to the Head, present on the school data, offer comments on the school’s point of view or to challenge and hold to account the Head as other categories of Governors are expected to do.
This course is non-chargeable for those schools who have annual training contract with Octavo Governance.
This interactive development session will consider:– The core strategic responsibilities that all modern day Governors, including Staff Governors, are expected to discharge effectively– Role expectations of Staff Governors, including potential conflicts of interest– Exploring the potential barriers that may prevent Staff Governors from fully discharging their governance responsibilities
The session will also provide delegates an opportunity to relect on governance practice and challenges they may have faced.
