Standardisation and moderation cluster meeting in order to support end of KS1 reading and maths assessment

Description

This session is intended to:

•support teachers in understanding the 2019 KS1 teacher assessment standards for reading and maths
•provide Y2 teachers with an opportunity to engage in standardisation and moderation activities to support them in making accurate judgements

Teachers should bring with them:

•a copy of the 2019 KS1 teacher assessment framework
•the 2019 reading and maths exemplification materials
•a range of maths evidence for a pupil they consider is working at each of the standards (three pupils in total)
•a range of reading evidence for a pupil they consider is working at each of the standards (three pupils in total)

This cluster meeting is one in a series of training sessions intended to support Y2 teachers in making accurate judgements in relation to the KS1 teacher assessment frameworks.
These half day moderation meetings in March 2019 will focus on making judgements in maths and reading.
There will be further writing moderation twilights in May 2019 which will focus on pupils working at the expected standard and at greater depth.
