The much-anticipated, revised version of Keeping Children Safe in Education  can now be viewed on the DfE website and came into force on 3 September 2018. Most of what was in the previous version remains but there are some important additions and clarifications. These include:

  • A stronger emphasis on the safeguarding needs of children with SEN and Disabilities
  • Sexual violence and sexual harassment guidance now included as a new Part 5
  • Some additional guidance on vetting and checking, staff induction and school safeguarding policies
  • Four new safeguarding topics for all staff in Annex A.

A table of all substantive changes listed in Annex H of the new document.
