This team of Ofsted trained professionals will support your organisation with bespoke services to improve standards, raise attainment, respond to changes in Government policy and prepare for inspection.

Supported by expert data analysis, extensive knowledge and experience of working with Croydon’s schools and colleges, this team is skilled in working with leadership teams, departmental teams and class teachers/ tutors.

In addition to the existing team, quality assured, specialist professionals from further afield can be commissioned, on your request, to support the development of particular elements of your organisation.

11-19 Support Services offers a range of services available to purchase. The cost of the service includes 2 days of in-school delivery as well as time for planning and preparation.

Introduction

Introduced in April 2011, the pupil premium is allocated to children who are looked after by the local authority, those who have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any point in the last six years (also known as Ever 6 FSM) and for children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.

In the 2015-16 financial year the level of premium is £1,320 per primary-aged pupil and £935 for secondary-aged pupils. Schools will continue to receive £1,900 for each child looked after. This increased funding is to reflect the unique challenges children looked after face at school, where they often struggle to keep up with their peers at both primary and secondary level.

With the pupil premium budget increasing to £1.875 billion this year, each school has significantly more resources to ensure the best educational attainment of their disadvantaged pupils. However, with increased resources comes increased expectations and scrutiny from Ofsted and the DfE. Schools must therefore be able to effectively demonstrate that its pupil premium budget is being invested in the pupils who need it most.

Introduction

The implementation of the Children and Families Act 2014,the revised Code of Practice for Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and revisions to the Ofsted inspection framework bring a sharper focus on the responsibilities of schools to ensure high expectations and positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND. Schools need to ensure that they have effective systems to correctly identify SEN and have in place a graduated response to meet these needs.

There is an increased expectation that all teachers have a basic understanding of a variety of mental health conditions which can act as barriers to learning and that schools have a range of interventions which are effective in meeting those needs

The new personal development, behaviour and welfare judgment in the revised Ofsted framework, reflects the high priority and government commitment to good behaviour, discipline, and pupil wellbeing in schools.
