Overview

Safeguarding is a key statutory duty that the Governing Board must ensure it complies with, in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team, as strategic school leaders. The effectiveness of safeguarding within a school will be specifically commented upon by Ofsted when the school is subject to an inspection.

Facilitated by a specialist safeguarding trainer, this development session is specifically targeted at Governors who are the nominated Safeguarding Governor on their Governing Board, regardless of whether their school is an academy or Local Authority maintained.

This session is non-chargeable for those schools with an annual Octavo Governance training contract.

Description

The material covered in this session will assist Governors’ development in relation to Key Competency 2 (Accountability) and 5 (Compliance) within the Governance Competency Framework.

Booking Information

Please note that a place must be booked beforehand in order to be able to attend the session. Those delegates who have booked a place by 5pm on the day before the session will receive, via an email, a Microsoft Teams meeting link which will be needed to join the Briefing. To ensure the security of the virtual meeting, Governors who have not booked and not been sent the link will not be allowed to join the training session.

For those Governors whose schools have purchased a training contract with Octavo Governance, attendance at this session will be at no additional charge; Governors whose school have not purchased an Octavo Governance training contract are warmly welcome to attend this virtual session for a fee of £115 per delegate
