Overview

Meeting minutes are a key source of evidence to stakeholders, including Ofsted, demonstrating how effectively the Governing Board is discharging its core strategic governance responsibilities.

It is key that whole Governing Board and Committee minutes accurately reflect the degree of challenge from Governors and how decisions made have supported and challenged the school in improving outcomes for its pupils.

This course is non-chargeable for those schools who have an annual contract with Octavo Governance.

Description

This training session, led by a very experienced Clerk, will look at:

– Good practice with regards to effective minute taking;

– Exploring the key components of effective minutes, including language that should be used; and

– How governor challenge could be evidenced.

Those delegates who have booked a place by 5pm on the day before the session will receive, via an email, a Microsoft Teams meeting link which will be needed to join the session. To ensure the security of the virtual meeting, Governors who have not booked and not been sent the link will not be allowed to join the training session.

For those Governors whose schools have purchased a training contract with Octavo Governance, attendance at these sessions will be at no additional charge; Governors whose school have not purchased an Octavo Governance training contract are warmly welcome to attend our virtual sessions for a fee of £85 plus VAT per delegate per session.
