Overview

This training is intended to support:
-Year 1 teachers to make accurate judgements of writing standards
– consistency of judgement across schools

Description

This session provide teachers with the opportunity to share and agreed end of year expectations in writing using the Croydon Y1 teacher assessment framework.

The session will include opportunities for teachers:
– to undertake standardisation activities to develop a common understanding of end of year writing expectations
– to work in small groups in order to compare examples of their pupils’ writing, to identify strengths and gaps and to agree next steps

Delegates will be given access to copies of the Octavo progression guidance documents for writing.

Teachers will be required to upload, in advance, 3 pieces of writing for each of two pupils who they consider to be working at or close to end of year expectations.
