The Role of the Investigating Officer | Octavo Partnership

Overview

Part of the modern-day Governor’s role is the potential to undertake a formal investigation, prior to it reaching a formal Governor Panel Hearing, be it in relation to a parental complaint or staff disciplinary issue. This development session will look at the role Governors can play as the Investigating Officer and the key considerations for ensuring an effective investigation is carried out.

This development session is non-chargeable for schools who have an annual Octavo Governance training contract.

Description

The material covered in this session will assist governors’ understanding of Key Competency 1 (Strategic Leadership) and Key Competency 5 (Compliance) within the Governance Competency Framework.

Those delegates who have booked a place by 5pm on the day before the session will receive, via an email, a Microsoft Teams meeting link which will be needed to join the session. To ensure the security of the virtual meeting, Governors who have not booked and not been sent the link will not be allowed to join the training session.

For those Governors whose schools have purchased a training contract with Octavo Governance, attendance at these sessions will be at no additional charge; Governors whose school have not purchased an Octavo Governance training contract are warmly welcome to attend our virtual sessions for a fee of £85 plus VAT per delegate per session.
