Primary Science Training Day - Spring 2018 | Octavo Partnership

Course Date

28 Feb 2018 09:30 - 15:30

Overview

This day will provide science leaders an opportunity to reflect upon and develop their roles as a science leader. There will be opportunities to think about how science is currently being learnt within their school, and then plan ways in which this can be improved.

Description

Throughout this day all delegates will have opportunities to explore all their roles and responsibilities. Andrew will provide a framework which science leaders can use to organise their subject in order to ensure that the children are being provided with the best opportunities possible for learning.
•One aspect of the day will look at the ‘planning for learning’ role of the science leader. Science policies, action plans, guidance for assessment and long term plans will be all be considered.
•A second aspect for the day will be concerned with how to monitor both the provision of science in the school, as well as the achievements and attainment of the children.
•Delegates will consider different methods by which they can support other teaching staff with developing science in their schools.
•Throughout the day there will be opportunities to outline what great teaching and learning of science looks like.
